Morgantown, WV - May 11, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) — Rural Development Acting State Director Dianne Crysler announces the soliciting of competitive applications under its Housing Preservation Grant (HPG) program. The HPG program is a grant program which provides qualified public agencies, private non-profit organizations (which may include, but not be limited to, faith-based and community organizations) and other eligible entities grant funds to assist very low- and low-income homeowners in repairing and rehabilitating their homes in rural areas.

Charleston, WV - April 16, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) — Attorney General Darrell McGraw today issued a warning to West Virginians facing foreclosure. "Businesses are contacting West Virginians who are struggling to keep their homes and promising to stop foreclosures or obtain a loan modification if the consumer makes an advance payment," said Attorney General Darrell McGraw.

WASHINGTON, DC - March 6, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) — The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development today awarded $116,703 to the Charleston-Kanawha Housing Authority, Parkersburg Housing Authority, and the Wheeling Housing Authority that will be used to help public housing residents to find jobs that lead them toward economic independence. This funding was part of nearly $12 million awarded to 207 public housing agencies across the U.S.
