Manchin Secures Significant Coal Amendments to Broad Energy Bill

As a member of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) today applauded the Committee’s passage of the Energy Policy Modernization Act of 2015, a comprehensive, bipartisan bill that addresses our nation’s energy opportunities and challenges. Included in the bill are three of Senator Manchin’s amendments that comprise the entirety of the bill’s coal title and focus on promoting an all-of-the-above energy policy, keeping coal competitive with other low-carbon energy sources and speeding up efforts to develop carbon emission-reducing technologies

Manchin Votes to Fund Transportation and Highway Projects

U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) today voted in support of two bills that will ensure funding for transportation and highway projects across West Virginia. Senator Manchin voted to pass the House’s 3-month extension in order to avoid the July 31st funding lapse. He also voted to pass the Developing Roadway Infrastructure for a Vibrant Economy (DRIVE) Act of 2015, which is the Senate’s long-term, 6-year transportation bill that the House may take up after the August recess
