McKinley Statement on EPA’s Power Plant Regulation

-

WASHINGTON, D.C. – August 5, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Congressman David B. McKinley, P.E., (WV-1) released the following statement on the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) so-called “Clean Power Plan” today:

“Today, President Obama and the unelected bureaucrats at the EPA are acting without any input from Congress to ‘fundamentally transform’ our country. The so-called Clean Power Plan will increase energy costs

“And for what purpose? If we shut down every coal-fired power plant in America, according to the United Nations, we would reduce global CO2 by only two-tenths of one percent. All this damage to our economy for 0.2%?

“In West Virginia, we know the destruction the War on Coal has brought to communities across our state. Today’s regulations open a new front by attacking natural gas as well. Here we go again.

“We are a nation of laws, not regulations. The President must stop this executive overreach and start to work with the American people’s elected representatives in Congress.”
